Regular Events

Tuesday Night Skate

Empire's regular weeknight group skate is the Tuesday Night Skate. TNS meets year-round, weather permitting.

Meet-up for skaters is 8:00 p.m. on the north side of Grand Army Plaza, Fifth Ave & 60th Street, Manhattan. (This is also the southeast corner entrance to Central Park.) We roll out at 8:15.

TNS is proud to be NYC's longest running group skate. Come on out and join the tradition!

Empire Weekend Skates

One of the best ways to explore the boroughs of New York City and its suburbs is a weekend group skate with the Empire Skate Club. We organize a group skate most weekends (and sometimes twice a weekend) during the warm-weather months. Pace and distance vary according to the group leader. Most tours are fairly casual skates of about 12-20 miles, but some are longer and more intense.

To find out what group skates are scheduled for upcoming weekends, and when and where they will meet, please see the Empire Calendar.

To check for last-minute announcements about weekend skates that may be caused by a change of weather or other circumstances, please see the Empire page on Facebook.

Other Events

Other Empire events, including special group skates, are listed on the Calendar.

Speed Skating

Come join Empire Speed on Monday evenings from April through September. Empire's racers meet at 7:00 p.m. at Central Park's “Speedskaters Curb” — Central Park's West Drive at West 68th St, just across the road and up the hill from Tavern on the Green. Inline speedskaters may meet other weekday evenings or on weekend mornings, so be sure to ask other skaters about alternative training times.

For more information about Empire's speedskating division, see the website. You may also want to check out the Empire Speed Facebook page for the latest updates about practices.
